Coppers raise a bob or twoTrainee Guernsey Police officers undertake a triathlon in support of the MS Society (Feb 2008) |
|
Trainee Guernsey Police officers chose to raise money for the Society as a part of the community project side of their training program. Looking to do something different, the energetic team decided on a marathon indoor triathlon. Using an indoor rower, bicycle and running machine the team aimed to cover a distance equivalent to going from Guernsey to London, which is a whopping 225 miles.
The event was staged in the foyer area of Guernsey's Beausejour leisure centre and the Local MS Society Committee set up stall alongside the aspiring (and perspiring!) police officers.
Starting at 8.45pm the team managed to achieve their goal in just under eight hours. The final total of funds raised isn't yet known but is expected to be well over £1,000.
